How can the organizers collaborate with interpreters in making the event a success?
By communicating!
The organizer must send the interpreters any material that is available in advance (program, presentations, brochures, technical specs, etc.). The organizer may introduce the interpreters to the speaker so they may agree on the pace he/she will speak at and to ask him/her if any specific terms will be used during the presentation. If possible, the organizer should inform the interpreters in advance that documents will be read or videos will be shown. The organizer must place the interpreter booth at a distance that allows them to see the speaker and slides or videos that are shown on the screen.
